On a canvas quiz, essay question, do students see the grading notes for each question, or does only the instructor see these notes? I do not want to waste time copying and pasting the grading notes which have the correct written equation if the students will see it. Thank you for your help!

By essay notes, @BMiller32 , I wonder if you mean the general answer comments that can be attached to the essay question when creating it, or if you mean the additional comments that can be added when grading it. Both fields only appear to students if you have the setting for them to see their answers. The assignment comments, which can be added in the SpeedGrader, are visible to students whether or not they can see their quiz answers.

If "grading notes" refers to a different field, please reply so a better answer can be provided.
