I teach both 4th and 5th grade science. I would like to be able to add some 4th grade SOL questions to their tests for review or extra credit. How can I access 4th grade material/questions for 5th graders? It won't let me.
Hi @THorton25!
I think you're correct that the assessment builder only allows you to add items aligned to the grade and standard of the assessment, in this case Grade 5. However, a work around might be to create an item that is aligned to both a G4 standard and a G5 standard. When you create an item through the Items area (see How do I create an item in my personal item bank as a teacher in Mastery Connect? ) you can use the "add another alignment" to the item and therefore align it to a G4 standard as well as a G5 standard. You can then add the item to either a G4 or a G5 test. I think it's a good idea/suggestion to make it easier to add items of any standard to an assessment. Hope this might help!

If you have already made a tracker, you can find steps to add other grade standards in this article.
If you have not made a tracker, you can use a curriculum map to and add standards there. This would be easier if you're using the same standards next year (I'm not sure they're up for review in VA, but hey they pushed the ELA standards really quickly).
When you're creating an assessment, click the alignment source button and select either the curriculum map or tracker that has the multiple grade level standards. See below:
This will allow you to use your items and purchased items from more than one standard set in a single assessment.
Our district which serves over 40,000 students has committed to using Mastery Connect for our District wide Interim Assessments. We would love for Mastery Connect to add a feature for teachers to use a clickable rubric to grade writing assessments. This would help to make our grading more efficient and accurate which will…
I have a student (Jamal Weldon) in my block 2 who cannot access the Checkpoint Assessment test code. The testing window is still open. Please advise
Is there a simpler way for Special Education teachers to track student progress on benchmarks for multiple grade levels in ELA and Math for their caseload? Creating my own trackers for each grade level and subject, with a few students in each, and being a collaborator is not an efficient or effective way to view the data.…
While taking the Final MVPA, I had four students whose answers did not save. They have logged back in and there were no answers present. They had finished 24 questions on the 6th grade ELA MVPA.
