I am not aware of any WhatsApp groups for Canvas. As for textbooks, because of the vast array of books that could be used by your instructor, we would not be able to assist you in finding an electronic copy without knowing what book you are seeking.
For help with Canvas, is there something in particular you need assistance understanding?
