I have created a separate canvas course for an optional project. How do I send an invite to students to join this course?
Thank you
Hi Brent,
If you already have the course created, you can navigate to the People area of the course. You should see a +People button on the right hand side. The easiest way to add them is to copy/paste their e-mail addresses and then make sure in the dropdown you select the student role. Once you add them, this sends the invitation to join the course. Keep in mind that if you have not published the course, they will not receive the invitation until it has been published. If you do not see an option to add people or see the student role, you may not have permissions to add students to your course. In that case, you will have to reach out to the LMS administrator for assistance.

Another possibility is that you may be able to make it a self-enroll course and send students the join code. This depends on whether your admin has enabled this option. Here's some documentation:

Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
My Canvas shell has three different sections that all meet at different times throughout the week. I need to be able to batch edit assignment due dates by section, but right now Canvas can't filter by section for batch edit. My only option is now to manually (tediously) edit due dates for each assignment individually.
Morning! One of the more frustrating aspects of Canvas are groups and the issues that show up when copying courses that have them. But now we have yet another issue. Most recently we have had instances where people mark an assignment/discussion as a group assignment but then do not link the discussion or assignment to any…
