Hi All,
I am looking at a comparison of the two accessibility tools, Blackboard Ally and Yuja Panorama. Does anyone here have any information to share on these two products? Thanks in advance.
hello,
We are currently comparing them as well. We currently have Ally. It works pretty well. YuJa seems to have more options, deeper analytics and the company has done a lot of updating in the last six months. One feature they said they will be releasing soon is the ability to edit a pdf on the system, in browser, on the fly and replace that file on the system. They said sometime next year.
We are leaning heavier on switching.
Thanks! That's good to know. We ended up going with Ally and I think we have a 3-year contract.
We are currently with Ally and trying to decide whether to switch to Panorama. I have done fairly deep studies of both systems, but only can use Panorama in our test sandbox of one course. So it is hard to judge the institution level. I'm particularly concerned about the institutional reports. Ally gives us the ability to see what courses have the most scanned PDFs, which is a current area of our focus. It appears Panorama does not do this. The Ally reports seem to be much deeper, though organized in a clumsy way. It is frustrating that Ally does not allow you to filter out unused content which greatly weakens the data. It is not on their roadmap, but Panorama offers this function. Now that Panorama offers the ability to do some fixes on PDFs within the interface, that is a big plus. Would love to hear from colleges that have made the switch or otherwise using Panorama.
Following this topic with interest, would be very keen to hear from those that have used both systems and made the switch.
Seven year in trying to hack Canvas to support differentiation, I quit. I give up. This is impossible. I created a quiz, tried to differentiate it with Tags and Sections, and —of course— Canvas will not sync differentiated assignment that do not align with County-created sections back to Synergy. Sorry, County. If you want…
Another classic for the…"Canvas Is The Most Intentionally Passive-Aggressive Piece of Software Ever Written / Nobody Does Weaponized Incompetence Better Than Canvas" I give you… You click on Assignments that "Need Grading" and it takes you to the assignmen…but then forces you to sort for the assignments that need…
I recently discovered an error in a quiz question for an exam my students have already taken. I want to regrade that question so that anyone who had that question in their Quiz would get a point regardless of their answer since it was not possible to answer it given the choices. Unfortunately, as best I can tell, because…
I assigned the first draft of an assignment. Each student got rubric comments from me and from one peer. The Speed Grader view gives me a "Select Rubric" menu, allowing me to toggle between my comments and the peer comments. But the Gradebook's "Bulk Download Rubrics" command generates a CSV file with only the peers'…
Hi all, I'm looking to see if this has happened for anyone else. A student completed a Classic Quiz and one question was counted wrong that should not have been. In the quiz settings, the instructor entered 9 possible answers for this question. The student entered one of these answers. However, that particular question was…
