What is the latest progress on incorporating the Rich Text Editor in messages or course emails?
Our institution primarily communicates via Canvas messages and email. We need more formatting options when sending messages to students.
@joella_robinson You are not the first user to make this suggestion, and it has been added to an identified theme ( Improve the inbox functionality to provide for more meaningful communication ) that will hopely be slated for development in Canvas sometime in the near future. If you have further suggestions for improvements, you may want to submit them to the Ideas forum (or contribute to previously submitted ideas) as this is where many of the ideas for improvements are gathered.
Canvas - this is truly ridiculous that you don't have this function in email. It is 2024. This is not a beta testing issue - it's pure laziness. You even have rich text in this chat forum! You have it in the announcements. It makes no sense at all why it is taking so long to add this. You should know that communicating with Gen Z requires the ability to be able to bullet, bold, italicize, use colors, change size etc. It is truly ridiculous that you have not added this. At the very least, let us send the announcements in an email since that has the functionality. Even Blackboard had this way back in 2002 when I first started teaching. I am tired of waiting. Please give a better answer why you don't have this added yet. I would think this would be a simple add on that would take no time at all. It is 2024!!!!
Looking for the addition of partial credit for alternative format questions in Canvas, like ordering and category/matrix. We can only do it in close drop down, matching, and multiple response.
Has anyone found gaps in their course analytics ? I'm currently seeing missing last view date, last participation date, and participations at overall course level, even though the same data is present at individual week and student level. Am also seeing truncated asset counts ie we are seeing only the global header counts,…
It would be very beneficial for observers (parents) if they could view instructor comments. If they had access to this information, they could better understand the grading of individual assignments and better understand the errors that their student made.
I have a new React + Flask webapp. It has its own login for users to start using the app. I have added this as an external tool in Canvas. What I want initially is to see of canvas users can start using the webapp without having to login if they click on the external tool link in a canvas course. I have 2 methods…
Our Elementary Sub Account is set with a Mastery Scale of FOUR Mastery levels: * Insufficient Evidence * Developing * Approaching * Meets However, we have a special project with our Office of English Language Learners who would like to use the WIDA Levels of language proficiency -- and I was hoping to be able to add those…
