As an instructor, is there any way to view student' quiz answers when "student results view" is restricted?
The students can't see what they got wrong, but I would like to see what questions my students got wrong.
Thank you.
Allison
Hi Allison,
Restricting students from viewing their results has no impact on whether or not you can see the results as an instructor. Quiz results are available through Speedgrader. See https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-grade-quiz-questions-in-SpeedGrader/ta-p/709
What if it's a "practice quiz"? Are students' responses (e.g., free text entries) lost forever if it's a "practice quiz"? I had started using practice quizzes for attendance for a couple of sessions, at the same time collecting feedback from the class -- but it looks like I'll have to use "ungraded survey" quizzes and ask them again, unless there's any way to retrieve the submissions?
It is definitely a pain that there is no way to view individual results to a practice quiz on Speedgrader and/or provide feedback to students on there. It defeats the purpose of a practice quiz! I am having to download the report and use mail merge to efficiently provide this feedback. Except that any special characters used by the students like "" or '' do not properly show on excel, which is an extra pain in the neck!
We are testing a third party integration from our college's ERP provider. We have connected it to our test environment. It seems to have very few features and options. So, just wondering if there is a way to monitor API calls. I was able to use the DAPClient in Python to download canvas_logs in our production environment.…
As "Ideas" section is gone (at least for now), I'm posting a feature request here. Mobile app shows a list of students who have submitted or not submitted a quiz/assignment. Would be good to have this in web version as well as way to export csv.
I’m a student exploring a small personal project related to Canvas grade notifications and student experience, and I wanted to ask about what is technically and policy-wise feasible within Canvas. Many students receive email notifications like “A new grade has been posted,” but then need to log into Canvas to actually see…
To the Canvas Product Team, I am writing to request a new global or course-level setting for the Rich Content Editor (RCE). Currently, when images are uploaded or embedded, Canvas defaults to displaying the full image. For many lab-based and data-heavy courses—such as my current molecular biology lab course—we often need…
Our Spanish department uses New Quizzes/Essay question type for students to record themselves talking using the record media function in the RCE. They did this all last year. However, now when the students log in to take the quize, the upload/record media icon isn't available to them. Is this a new issues? Anyone have any…
