Why can't Canvas fix it so that assignments don't require points? An incomplete/complete assignment with feedback, but no points should be possible. Like, now. Frustrated!

Generally speaking, assignments in Canvas are set up so that the grade for an assignment can be used as part of the total grade calculation, which means that it needs to have a numeric score or a percentage attached to it.

My class policy is that late assignments can be accepted at professor discretion, but they will have a 50% penalty. This is a gate you pass through once, and there are no further penalties.
