Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows how students can access Collaborations when Elementary is turned on? There is no Course Navigation Bar for them to access the subject navigation.
Thanks.
Hello @allison88 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Instructure Community regarding your question concerning enabling Collaborations when the Canvas for Elementary theme is applied. Collaborations would not be visible to students in the Course navigation menu when the Canvas for Elementary theme is applied to a course. You cannot enable it under Course navigation in the Course settings, as you normally can, with a non-Canvas for Elementary themed course. We have a feature comparison document regarding Canvas for Elementary here as well, Canvas for Elementary Feature Comparison - Instructure Community . So, any materials students would access would be in the Modules, Schedule, or the Resources (external/LTI tools) tabs. Further, I might suggest, as a workaround, when adding a student to a Collaboration, they may still be able to access them via Groups, under their Global Navigation menu.
I hope this helps ! Again, thank you for reaching out to the Instructure Community.
Whenever possible, I prefer to have my students take in-class quizzes and tests on their laptops. But to make sure that they do it in the classroom, I've always put a password on the assessment and then given them the password. That way they can't take it somewhere else on their own (or somewhere else, not on their own).…
Known issue - headings Just wanted to note that this known issue is described as 'styling', when it is actually an accessibility issue. Headings are structure on the page and essential for users who rely on screenreaders.
It is possible to import tags or other metadata when importing in a QTI file? I've tried everything I can think of, but it seems to get stripped out every time. Are any metadata types allowed? I can bring in a batch of tags questions or manually tag each one. Tagging each one is not an option. I'm using New Quizzes, so I…
I'm testing whether Mastery Paths can be used to give students early access to an item based on their score, while making the same item available to everyone else on a later date. Here is my setup: A 4-point assignment is the source for the Mastery Path. Students scoring 75–100% are assigned a Solutions item. The Solutions…
I am a physics teacher at a high school. I love to use the random generation of formula questions to give each student a unique quiz/test. However, units in physics are extremely important. In the past I have also used Moodle as an LMS and they included a feature that could grade the units listed after the numerical…
