Can you add students to your free teacher account?

I have the free for teachers version and add students and parents as observers all the time.
Simply go to People, in the right-hand corner is a blue button with People+.
Click on that blue button and a new screen will come up. Put in the student's email and click add. From there simply follow the prompts.
The student should receive an email with the enroll link. Once they click the link and it brings them to Canvas, they will need to click the green accept button at the top of the page.
Both you and the student should be good to go then.
One caveat that I've experienced is that Canvas emails tend to end up in spam folders, so be sure to warn your students. Another is to make sure that their notification settings are adjusted to your (and their) liking as there's no way (I don't think) to override or even to set defaults.
I'm in the free account and I have invited students. However, for some of the students I am not prompted to add their names and they are invited as an assigned number. These student receive the invite but when they try to create their account it asks for a "join code". Where do I get that?
