On a quiz, the TEST STUDENT is listed as having missed every question and the class average is affected. How do I turn off grading of TEST STUDENT?
@ToddLaMaskin -
I totally despise the test student concept showing up everywhere - fortunately for me, I have had dummy student accounts created that allow me to add them in to my courses and see exactly what students see (of course they affect the averages, but I really don't care about that aspect).
In my opinion the test student should be visible to the instructors but have no affect on the grades as you note.
On to your answer. The only thing I know of to do would be to excuse the test student for all graded assignments(done one assignment at a time).Or, everytime the test student shows up, delete the test student from your roles.
here is the forum post with the instructions to remove the test student
note - if you have multiple sections you have to remove the test student from each section

Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
Hi There, We are in the process of transitioning to Canvas this year and were wanting to connect with any other MYP schools to see how you setup Assignment and grading under your modules. Or you could guide us to any resources you may have.
