Overview
As districts expand their use of data warehouses, analytics platforms, and connected systems, they need flexible ways to access and exchange assessment data at scale. The Mastery Connect REST API evolves our API capabilities to better support these enterprise integration needs, including modern authentication, large-scale data retrieval, and Canvas-linked workflows.
The API gives administrators and district technology teams a secure, scalable way to access critical assessment data programmatically. With OAuth 2.0 authentication and improved support for enterprise data exchange, districts can automate recurring workflows, connect Mastery Connect with their broader educational technology ecosystem, and reduce the manual effort required to keep downstream systems current.
Administrative Highlights:
- Enablement – Opt-in. Districts request access by contacting their CSM. Once enabled, administrators can configure the API via the credentials management page in Mastery Connect.
- Default Status – Off by default.
- Configuration Availability – District administrators can configure API credentials through the credentials management page after the feature is enabled.
- API or LTI impact – This release introduces the modernized V2 public API and moves authentication from OAuth 1.0 to OAuth 2.0.
