I have a single suggestion to improve workflow in Canvas, a seemingly simple change that would hopefully improve user experience:
- Allow an option for quizzes/exam that says "exclude."
Or on the "assign to" link also put in something that says "assign to/exclude from" so that a student can be excluded from an exam.
Every semester I have students that require "more time" to take an exam, so I create an exam for just those students. As such I have to exclude the student(s) from an exam and add them to another exam. It's really easy to "assign" a single person to an exam, but it's very laborious to "exclude" a single person from an exam. As it currently stands you need to add each individual student to an exam EXCEPT that/those student(s) who you want to exclude.
I only have about 40 students in my class… but I can't imagine the work it must take for someone with 200 people in their classroom. And, it seems like such a simple fix, though admittingly I know little about writing that kind of code.
