Navigation Links in Account, Course, and User Menus

Question

I recently used the custom link feature in the root settings to add a link to our tutoring center. It worked great and the custom link I created immediately showed on the course navigation in all courses in our Canvas instance.

Ideally, I would much rather have the custom link hidden by default, and give the instructor the option of whether or not to include it on their course navigation menu. What are your thoughts?

@HongHo something you can do as a Canvas admin is use the Canvas API to batch disable the link you added in the course navigation. Of course, then the course instructors who do want the link would then need to reenable it. Or you could selectively enable it via the Canvas API.
