Big News: Exciting Changes and Upgrades Are Coming to the On-Demand Training Portal! 🚀
Here at the On-Demand team, we’ve been listening to your feedback.
Along with looking at our survey data, we recently sat down with focus groups to hear directly from On-Demand Training Portal users. Your feedback, candid thoughts, and ideas were invaluable, and we walked away with a clear mission: make learning faster, more flexible, and tailored to what you actually need.
To do that, we’re shaking things up a bit across the entire portal. Here is a comprehensive look at everything you can expect to see rolling out!
📈 Your Training Portal Subscription Just Got an Upgrade
In the next week, we will be making adjustments to the Training Portal to better align with the new Canvas Prism Tiers. Your subscription package is getting more content, expanding your access to tools and resources in the Instructure ecosystem.
- Free Subscription: Continues to include access to core foundation courses, such as Canvas Basics, Fundamentals of Accessible Digital Content in Canvas, and Fundamentals of AI Literacy.
- Essential Subscription: Now includes access to all asynchronous Canvas course offerings, like IgniteAI Essentials and Accessibility Tools.
- Standard Subscription: Receives everything in Essential, plus access to IgniteAI Teaching and Feedback Tools, Advanced Analytics: From Dashboards to Decisions, and ecosystem courses for Studio and Impact.
- Premium Subscription (NORAM only): Gets a massive expansion, including all Standard content plus access to all live webinars, Live Playback+, Ask Your Data: From Questions to Insights, the Catalog, Parchment Digital Badges, and LearnPlatform ecosystem courses!
Our team is updating subscription documentation, the subscription level checklists, and portal access on the back end, so all new content will appear automatically with no action required on your part.

- A One-Stop Shop for Portal Resources: Find exactly what you need on our dedicated On-Demand Training page, including portal access, subscription options, checklists, and more.
- Interactive Updates and Discussions: Engage with our new Professional Learning Blog and Forum to read announcements, start discussions, ask questions, and connect with fellow users.
🎓 Welcome to Micro-Credentialing!
We’re moving away from long, multi-module traditional courses. Instead, as we update our course library, we are shifting toward a micro-credentialing format. Here is what that looks like in practice:
- Personalized Learning: You get to jump straight to the exact knowledge you need, when you need it, without wading through content you’ve already mastered.
- Badges at Every Step: Earn visible, shareable badges and certificates along the way to celebrate your achievements, giving you visible recognition for your specific skills.
- More Tailored Pathways: What used to be a single large course will now become its own streamlined pathway, allowing us to expand our catalog and offer pathways tailored directly to your role, level, and goals.
A Quick Note: Some specialized topics that require comprehensive depth will remain in a traditional format to ensure you get all the in-depth training required.

Your time is valuable. By breaking down heavy content into targeted micro-credentials, we’re empowering you to build a learning experience that fits your schedule and career goals. Whether you have 15 minutes between meetings or want to deep-dive into a specific skill, the new course format will make finding and applying information easier.
📊 Intelligent Insights Course Updates
To better align with the Canvas Tiers, the Intelligent Insights: From Data to Action course will be archived on September 30th and has been split into two separate courses:
