I have faculty wanting to use Roll Call Attendance. It is apparently an external app though I'm not familiar with it. How do I install this app? I find this answer already: "an external app (LTI) used for taking attendance in Canvas courses. The Attendance tool can be used for online or face-to-face courses. Enabled at the account level, the Roll Call Attendance tool can be used by all courses in the Canvas account."
Hi @AmyBarr,
If you're a root Canvas admin, I think you'dd need to contact your Instructure Customer Success Manager (CSM) so they can get the attentance tool enabled for your instance. If you're not a root admin, you'd likely need to ask your root admin to make that request to your CSM.

I'd really not recommend using the Roll Call Attendance tool. It has a lot of significant issues with its design and functionality, especially when used to send a grade to the gradebook.
Here are some cautions we list in our guide to it based on Canvas's own guides:
If you are using Roll Call Attendance to send a grade to the gradebook:
If you want to change the default points value, you have to follow a convoluted process per Canvas's guide:
Thanks so much. I've passed this community note on to my faculty. They've been using this for years in FFT and in a different instance so they may have already figured out how to avoid issues or problems but I've let them know your advice.

I am just curiousas to why there is not a field to enter a description for an outcome at the account level? Or at least edit the rating when you attach/link an account level outcome to a rubric. When you create a new criterion for a rubric, you enter a decription for a rating, but for an account level outcome.
We use a pre- post- model to measure learning which requires student-question matching from two time periods. This requires exporting quiz data to CSV to do the analysis properly. (I can get into more detail if needed.) The New Quizzes Student Analysis CSV export has repeated blocks of ItemID then columns related to that…
