How can I add an Impact walkthrough or message to a student-only feature?

For the new Customizable Dashboard, I’d like to use Impact to provide support attached to the Switch to New Dashboard button. Unfortunately, because this button is only visible to students, I’m not sure how to target the element when creating an Impact message or walkthrough.

Has anyone found a way to create Impact messaging for elements that are only visible to students?

In case anyone else is feeling as desperate as I was, my workaround was to use Classic Impact. I have a test student account in Canvas, so I added that account as an Impact Campaign Manager. Because the account only has student permissions in Canvas, I could then select student-only elements for messaging.

I'm using the same workaround for the new Notebook feature.

I really hope we see more parity between Classic Impact and New Impact before we're required to use only the new version in Canvas. Definitely getting some Classic Quizzes/New Quizzes déjà vu here!
