Session Description
For over two decades, EDSI designed high-quality professional development exclusively within client engagements — custom, behind closed doors, and never for the open market. That changed when we used Canvas to build a statewide professional development system for Michigan's adult educators. What started as a client project became a turning point that challenged how we thought about our own expertise and its reach.
This session traces our Canvas journey honestly — from statewide PD infrastructure to the launch of KeyweLearn, our first public catalog storefront. We'll share the hard lessons of transitioning from a bespoke consulting model to catalog-ready products, the decision to pursue IACET and ASWB credentialing to strengthen our quality signal, and our early experience leveraging Instructure's marketing support to expand our reach. This is a real-time story, not a finished one — and attendees will leave with practical insight into what it takes to evolve a consulting firm into a learning marketplace.
