Session Description
Higher education institutions often feel like passive consumers of the technology platforms they depend on — too small to influence product direction alone, too large to ignore. The Internet2 NET+ Instructure Canvas Service Advisory Group (SAG) offers a different model: one where over 170 research and higher education institutions speak with a unified voice to shape Canvas roadmap priorities, advocate for accessibility and interoperability, and engage directly with Instructure's senior leadership.
In this session, we'll pull back the curtain on how the SAG works — from monthly structured feedback cycles to in-person co-creation exercises with Instructure's executive and product teams — and share real examples of community input translating into product outcomes. We'll also explore how the SAG is engaging on emerging areas like Canvas AI features, ensuring the R&E community has a seat at the table as AI capabilities evolve within the platform.
