Session Description
The transition from elementary to middle school can be daunting for students and their parents. Suddenly families are managing multiple classes, multiple teachers, and a more complex use of Canvas LMS. To reduce confusion, increased support requests, and communication overload for teachers, I created a “Middle School Launchpad”, a Canvas-based onboarding course. Instead of handing new parents a paper with technical documentation, this approach guides parents through the experience of using Canvas in Middle School: understanding the dashboard, tracking grades across courses, interpreting feedback, and supporting growing student independence.
