Session Description
Launching assessment technology is only the first step. Achieving meaningful adoption presents a far greater challenge. This is especially true for outcomes assessment tools, where success requires not only configuration and training. It requires cultural change, faculty engagement, and institutional alignment.
This session explores how institutions can plan beyond system activation to achieve sustained faculty engagement and institutional impact. Presenters will share lessons from implementing outcomes assessment tools in the Canvas ecosystem, including a case from San Antonio College.
San Antonio College has paired outcomes assessment with an innovative marketable skills digital badging initiative, which has issued over 170,000 competency-based credentials to more than 8,000 learners across multiple career pathways. This strategy has helped translate assessment into visible, student-facing value while strengthening workforce alignment.
