I'm trying to figure out whether Canvas Portfolio will work for me this year with my 11th graders. We are introducing a curriculum that has a portfolio component but does not specify the platform. I would like to try Evaluation Portfolios but am confused by the information in the guides.
The Guide for Portfolio says
- Once an Evaluation Portfolio is published, it can no longer be edited.
Does that mean I have to know exactly what I want from the portfolio before I publish it to the students? I have no idea what evidence I might want from them over the year! I think I must be misreading something. The Guides aren't very helpful.
Is anyone using this feature? Do you have any advice? Is Portfolio something I can "figure out as I go," or is that not really an option?
ETA: Or maybe I want Showcase Portfolios? If so, how do I see what students have created? Do they have to take the initiative to share them with me, or is there a way I can access them from within the course (synced via our SIS, Aeries)?
