Bulk Blueprinting

We currently use a template for all our course shells. They've already been created for the upcoming semester. Now I need to add a module for instructors for some resources. Is there a way to bulk associate courses to a blueprint? Seems tedious to do each department separately.

ALSO - is there a way to blueprint to a blueprint template? We use blueprints for our graduate courses and I need to update all the blueprint templates. It's currently not allowing me to. Instead I have to disable the blueprint template and then when complete, enable it back. Once again - tedious.

@kapjones If the courses have a SIS ID associated with them you can bulk associate blueprints by filling in the blueprint_course_id column on the SIS file. This is how we do this at our district since the UI only lets you associate 100 courses at a time. Note that associating courses with a blueprint through this method will trigger a blueprint sync.

(As a pro tip, go to the subaccount reports tab and download the SIS Export report, then edit the report to blueprint, then push it back up.)

For the equivalent API call, you can update associated courses then trigger a sync.

I've never tried to blueprint to another blueprint, but it would make sense that you can't — it could make things really complicated with blueprint syncing. However, as long as you're a teacher in the blueprint, you should be able to update the blueprint then sync the changes. You shouldn't need to disable the blueprint course flag. You may want to check the status of your 'enrollment' in the blueprint course and also make sure you're not locking objects.
