This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 8/12/26.
Summary:
When grading periods are set up for a course, if you create a graded discussion with checkpoints enabled, the discussion does not show up when you filter the Gradebook by the grading period the discussion should be in.
Expected Behavior:
Graded discussions should appear when filtering by the grading period that the due date is set up to be within.
Steps to Reproduce:
Prerequisites: have a course that is in a term that is added to a grading period set with at least 2 grading periods set up.
- In a course, create a new discussion.
- Make sure the discussion is set up to be graded and has checkpoints enabled.
- Make sure that the due dates you set for the discussion are within a future or prior grading periods that applies to the course.
- Publish the discussion.
- In the Gradebook page, filter by the grading period that discussion should be found within.
- Note that the discussion is not listed.
- If you filter by the current grading period or by all grading periods, you might notice that it is there instead.
