Summary:
In New Quizzes where at least one manually graded and one auto-graded questions are present, entering negative fudge points may set the submission in a “pending_review” state
Expected Behavior:
Applying negative fudge points shouldn’t turn the submission ungraded
Workaround:
- Grade via the Gradebook
- Grade via the SpeedGrader sidebar
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a course and publish it
- Create a New Quiz with a manually graded item and an auto-graded item (e.g. T/F, Essay) and publish it
- Enroll a student in the course
- As the student, complete the quiz
- Within SpeedGrader, grade the essay question as a fractional value (should be 3 decimals, or so I believe) and update the submission
- Enter a negative fudge point that deducts all points the student has achieved
- Notice that the submission may have become ungraded
