QTI Test Bank bringing in Gibberish in Questions

Question

We were having trouble bringing in a Cengage test bank yesterday. We turned off New Quiz functions in the Admin area as Cengage test banks are still set up with Classic Quizzes. They finally imported correctly, but now the the test bank questions are coming in as gibberish but the answers are reading correctly. Have any of you had this problem and how did you fix it?

I do not have experience with it but maybe try to use Cengage's ExamView.

You might also need to follow the instructions at

I believe that ExamView is able to import QTI files. Using ExamView, you might be able to see if the files are working and the questions are formatted properly. It might also be possible to export to a difference format (such as an IMSCC file for Canvas).

I have not heard of this issue, sounds like a bug. Regardless, given classic quizzes will eventually be retired, it would be good to put pressure on Cengage to make their app compatible with New Quizzes.
