Hi everyone! We're looking for a solution to require students to acknowledge an academic integrity and AI-use statement before they can submit an assignment in Canvas. Ideally, the process would be: * Students click Submit Assignment. * Before they can complete the submission, they are presented with a statement that they must acknowledge by checking a box. * The statement would include both an academic integrity/similarity pledge and an AI-use declaration (for example, confirming whether AI tools were used and that any use complies with our AI policy). * The acknowledgment would be recorded as part of the submission process. The challenge is that we do not use Turnitin or another paid LTI that provides this functionality, so we're looking for a native Canvas solution or a creative workaround. Has anyone successfully implemented something similar? Specifically, I'm interested in: * Built-in Canvas features that can require a checkbox acknowledgment before submission. * Workarounds that don't require a paid third-party integration. * Something relatively automated (so not asking the students to copy and paste a statement for each submission). One solution you can try is as follows:

Create a Module that has a Quiz with 1) a True/False question and 2) the Assignment for online submission in that order.

The module settings will have the Requirements set for students to complete all and they must move through the requirements in sequential order.

For the Quiz, set it to not count the assignment towards the final grade. You will still have the evidence of the student completing the Quiz.

Students will not be able to start the Assignment until they complete correctly the Quiz stating that they agree with the AI-Use statement.

What @BruceRichards_CCHs outlined is what I would do. The biggest downfalls are that you would need to (1) stage quiz and module and (2) have them separate from the assignment. There is nothing else that I can think of that you could do.
