Ever inherited a course? Imported content from another system, found a dozen unpublished pages, and thought: where do I even start?
That was the thread running through every demo in this Prompt Party. Farrah King and Justin Stewart from Instructure showed up with a clear throughline: what do you do when a course wasn't built by you, for you, and it's yours now?
Four prompts, one very capable Agent.
1. Audit an inherited course and get a road map
Justin opened with the scenario Farrah had been thinking about since the last session: a teacher who's just inherited a course. Maybe it was imported from another LMS or been copied each semester, for years. Either way, it feels fragmented, and few people have time to go through it page by page.
He dropped in a prompt asking IgniteAI Agent to review the course structure, learning outcomes, and page views, then propose a new structure that optimises the modules, pages, and discussions. The output was 14 modules, 62 items, a clear list of strengths, and a prioritised phase-by-phase remediation plan. It flagged nine unpublished items, identified duplicate pages, and surfaced placeholder assets, before telling Justin exactly what to tackle first.

2. Clean up a page and make it actually readable
With the course structure sorted, Farrah pushed further: what about a single page that's just a wall of text? Can IgniteAI Agent help make it look better, too?
Justin pulled up a massive single-block of text on Australian animals. He asked IgniteAI Agent to apply clean, modern HTML styling with accessible headers and callout boxes. The tool restructured the content into clear sections (introduction, mammals, marsupials), presented the changes for review, and waited for approval before making a single edit.
Then Farrah asked: what if you want it to match your existing course templates?

3. Copy an assessment across courses, settings and all
For anyone who's ever spent 20 minutes replicating assignment settings between courses, this one is a game changer. Justin asked IgniteAI Agent to pull a reflection activity from one course into another, bringing everything with it, including the rubric, submission type, grading settings, and assignment group.

Kristin Lundstrum from Instructure, connected it immediately to a use case every instructor knows: multiple sections of the same course, where you just need the assignment duplicated without rebuilding it from scratch.
The assignment is due at 9:04 a.m. And then you get all those particulars, especially in secondary education. That alone, to be able to tell Agent to just copy this as a template." — Kristin Lundstrum
4. Build a guest speaker page, assignment, and announcement in under five minutes
The last what-if really drove home the power of IgniteAI Agent. Justin set the scenario: a guest speaker was confirmed 20 minutes ago for the class. There’s no bio page reflection activity for students. In fact, there’s not even an announcement yet, and he has no time.
He gave Ignite one prompt: create a Canvas page with a guest speaker. Pair it with a five-point reflection assignment in the course overview module and add a high-energy announcement to let students know.
The tool pulled the speaker’s information from the web, drafted the bio, built the assignment with the correct submission type and point value, created the announcement, and checked in at every step before publishing anything. By the end, Justin had a page, an assignment, and an announcement, all live and ready for learners.

Then Kristin asked about inherited instructor names, and it got even better
The session closed with a moment that every teacher who's ever inherited a course will recognise. Kristin asked: what if someone's name is still all over a course you just took over, like an old instructor name in the syllabus or a course code that's changed.
Justin ran a search across the entire course for a specific name and located it in seconds. He then demonstrated renaming it across pages, assessments, and announcements without leaving the chat.
That question led to one more live test: cleaning up course files. Justin asked Ignite to audit the files in the course. It found 23 files from 2014, hidden assets not connected to any content, and duplicate files stacked up from years of course rollover. IgniteAI Agent offered to bulk delete by category, and flagged clearly when something was outside its capability rather than guessing.
