Dear Parchment Digital Badges Community,
Building a successful credential program is about more than issuing badges. Administrators need to understand what happens next: Are learners accepting and sharing their badges? Are credentials reaching audiences beyond the platform? Which issuers and programs are driving the strongest engagement? And where should you focus your efforts to increase impact?
The redesigned Dashboard in Parchment Digital Badges brings these insights together in one place, giving administrators a clearer view of how their credential program is performing.
With key engagement metrics, issuer performance, skills insights, and program activity available at a glance, you can more easily see what is working, identify opportunities to improve, and make informed decisions about where to invest and grow your program.
When you need to explore the data in more detail, Analytics provides a dedicated space for deeper reporting and exports. Together, the Dashboard and Analytics give you a clearer path from understanding performance to taking action.
What's New
1. Understand your credential program at a glance
The redesigned Dashboard now gives administrators a single operational view of their credential program.
Instead of primarily serving as a navigation page, it now highlights the information administrators use most often to understand program performance, including:
- Learner Engagement Score
- External Impact Score
- Badge creation and award totals
- Total unique recipients
- Badge acceptance, sharing, and public visibility rates
- Skills insights, including skills used, trending skills, and unique skills earned
The new Learner Engagement and External Impact Scores provide an immediate snapshot of program performance, while badge and skills metrics help administrators quickly understand how credentials are being earned, shared, and used across their organization.
2. Compare issuer performance
The Dashboard also introduces a new Issuer Awarding Performance experience.
Administrators can compare issuer activity across the organization using:
- Badges awarded
- Acceptance rate
- Share rate
- Public visibility rate
- Trend indicators over time
- Flexible date-range filtering
- CSV export for additional reporting
Rather than simply tracking badge activity, the new experience makes it easier to compare issuer performance, identify successful programs, and uncover opportunities to increase learner engagement.
3. Simplify everyday organization management
The Dashboard now places the most common administrative tasks within easy reach.
Dedicated action cards provide direct access to:
- Subscription Details
- Members and Admins (combined into a single management page)
- Organization Settings
This makes it easier for administrators to move between monitoring program performance and managing their organization without searching through multiple navigation paths.
4. Bring reporting into one place
We've also moved Data Management into Analytics, creating a dedicated home for reporting and exports.
Badge list exports, badge award exports, group exports, and administrative export tools are now organized within a single Analytics experience.
Instead of remembering where different export options live, administrators can now access reporting tools from one consistent location designed specifically for working with organizational data.
5. Built to scale with your organization
As organizations issue more credentials, their reporting experience should remain just as responsive.
The redesigned Dashboard is built to better support organizations with large credential programs, helping key metrics and reports load more reliably as data volumes grow. This means administrators can continue monitoring their programs without the slowdowns that can occur when managing large numbers of badges and awards.
Why It Matters
Every day, administrators need to answer two kinds of questions.
How is our credential program performing?
And when we need more detail, where do we find the data?
This release gives each activity a dedicated home.
The Dashboard provides an operational overview of your organization, making it easy to monitor engagement, issuer activity, skills adoption, and overall credential performance.
Analytics becomes the centralized workspace for reporting and Data Management, bringing exports together in one place for a more consistent experience.
Together, these changes create a faster, clearer, and more scalable administration experience that grows alongside your credential program.
