Page WYSIWYG Editor Not Working Properly

Question

I don't know if this might be connected to the July 1 update that also caused issues with the green check mark and ellipsis menu displaying poorly, but—I was trying to use the Page editor today and it's been fighting me with a whole bunch of functionalities. For instance * I will try to paste from Microsoft Word and it won't paste * I will have a bullet point list I want to get rid of—it won't let me backspace, and clicking the bullet point list will also not remove it * Sometimes I will backspace and it will delete an entire

paragraph from farther down on the page Et cetera. It seems to be something with how it's working with paragraphs and bullet points, but there's just a whole bunch of things not working, not one bug. And it's really, really janky. Is this new for anyone else? I typically use Brave but it also isn't working on Chrome or Edge.

I feel your frustration - but it is a quirk of MS metadata, not Canvas. FWIW, I never had this issue when copying/pasting from Google Docs.

I guess Canvas had a pretty low error budget this month and decided to spend it all on this upgrade.

If/When you reach out to Canvas Support, I recommend that you be prepared to do a screen recording so that you can show them your experience.
