Session Description
Many school leaders are already using Mastery Connect to support assessment practices, but the platform also offers powerful insights that can strengthen instructional leadership.
In this session, participants will explore how administrators can leverage Mastery Connect data to better understand standards mastery, identify instructional trends, and support meaningful conversations with teachers and instructional teams. School leaders will learn how to access and interpret key data views within Mastery Connect and how those insights can inform PLC discussions, instructional coaching, and school improvement efforts.
Drawing from district-level implementation supporting nearly 90 schools, this session highlights practical ways administrators can use Mastery Connect to connect assessment data with instructional decision-making. Participants will see examples of how leaders can monitor standards-level trends, support standards-aligned assessment practices, and use assessment data to guide instructional conversations across teams.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies for leveraging Mastery Connect data to support teachers, strengthen collaborative planning, and drive real instructional change in their schools.
What this session is really about
Let’s be honest: As school leaders, we are swimming in data, but how much of it actually changes what happens in the classroom tomorrow morning? That’s the exact problem we’re tackling.
Many of us have Mastery Connect, but it’s often treated as just a compliance tool to log assessment scores. In reality, it’s sitting on a goldmine of instructional insights. This session isn't a dry technical walkthrough; it’s a candid look at how administrators can use that data to instantly spot instructional trends, support struggling teachers, and drive meaningful PLC conversations.
Having supported nearly 90 schools through this implementation, I’ve seen what actually works (and what doesn't) when moving a building toward true standards-aligned instruction.
You’ll walk away knowing exactly how to interpret key data views without overwhelm and how to translate those charts into actionable coaching conversations. I’m genuinely excited to share the real-world strategies we’ve figured out across dozens of campuses so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. If you want to turn your data into real classroom impact, you shouldn't miss
This one's for you if…
- You are tired of vague PLC meetings and want to walk into collaborative planning sessions equipped with clear, standards-level trends that spark actual strategy.
- You want to strengthen your instructional coaching with objective, real-time data so your feedback to teachers is concrete, supportive, and focused on growth.
- You are overwhelmed by spreadsheets and want to know exactly which 2 or 3 data views in Mastery Connect give you the biggest bang for your buck.
