We call ourselves #SoloPandas—the brave adventurers who will pack bags, board planes or trains (or drive our cars), and head to Louisville without a built-in travel buddy. Whether it’s your first time at InstructureCon or your sixth solo trek, we see you. And we think it’s time we met up at the Opening Reception.
Education in the Making with Friends
Every visitor to Derby City has a story to tell, and at InstructureCon you'll be surrounded by people with things to share and questions to ask about teaching with technology. You'll definitely strike up conversations with someone friendly. But why leave that to fate when you can make an intentional connection!
Come meet other #SoloPandas at Registration as the Opening Reception kicks off at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21. Spot someone who looks like they’re wondering if everyone else already knows each other (spoiler: they don’t). On the second floor outside of the exhibit hall, look for a sign and keep an eye out for Community Coaches with their Coaches shirts – including @Chris, @MAJ18, @Dianna, @melodyc_lam, @valentinesking, and me (@Greg )! We’ll be there to give you a #SoloPanda welcome, answer your #SoloPanda questions, and help connect you with other awesome #SoloPandas.
Join us to:
- Break the ice with fellow #SoloPandas and start InstructureCon with confidence
- Find a conference buddy, session twin, or your lunch table crew
- Enjoy the evening reception alongside new friends and share stories as the night unfolds
- Connect with folks from the Instructure Community and keep that connection going long after the InstructureCon ends
Why It Matters
There’s something magical about taking a leap and showing up solo. It’s brave. It’s bold. And it’s a legendary way to open yourself to unexpected friendships, powerful conversations, and surprising moments of “I’m so glad I came.”
Find a connection with other valiant visitors and continue your journey into the Instructure Community by spending some time with the other #SoloPandas. Though we arrive separately and as the sole representatives of our institutions, we can help each other find a sense of belonging as we add our voices to the stories of InstructureCon.
