Engineers are currently investigating the issue.
Summary:
Users who do not share a course or group with another user are able to select that other user when sharing content via the {{Send to}} option, but they are unable to successfully share the content: If only users who don’t have a common course or group are being sent the item then an {{Error starting content share}} error message is displayed If there are some users being sent the content who have a course or group in common then the content will successfully share with those users, while the users without a course or group in common are silently removed from the share without any indication to the user sharing the content.
Expected Behavior:
All administrative users (teachers and admins) should be able to receive and share content to other administrative users
Steps to Reproduce:
Prerequisites: Two courses with a teacher enrolled in each course. A page or assignment in one of the courses
- As the teacher in the course with the content, open the direct share modal to share the content
- In the search box type the name of the teacher in the other course and note that the teacher shows and can be selected.
- Select the teacher from the other course and share
- Note the {{Error starting content share}} message when attempting to share, and the content is not shared with the other teacher.
