Admins that wanted to understand tool adoption and mobile usage questions used to need to run separate exports and develop separate analyses. They don't anymore. IgniteAI Ask Your Data now reads both LTI launch data and mobile log data, so the same conversational interface can answer questions about LTI launches and mobile usage as quickly and easily as all data. .
What's new
We added two new data sources to IgniteAI Ask Your Data.
LTI launches
The tool can now answer questions about LTI tool usage — how often a tool launched, who launched it, when usage spiked or dropped, and how adoption compares across courses, departments, or terms. Admins can use it to track adoption trends, spot underused tools, and look into launches that failed.
Mobile logs
It can also read mobile log activity, so questions about how students and instructors interact with the Canvas mobile apps return real answers. That includes session counts, feature usage, app version distribution, and patterns across courses or roles.
Why it matters
For IT admins, instructional designers, and student success leaders, LTI tools and mobile apps have traditionally been hard to evaluate from the inside the LMS. The data lived in different systems, the queries needed engineering help, and the answers arrived too late to act on. Pulling both data sources into IgniteAI Ask Your Data closes that gap. Admins get the same natural language query experience they already use, and they get it for the channels students actually use day to day. That makes adoption decisions, license renewals, and mobile support investments easier to defend with evidence — and easier to revisit when the next budget cycle comes around.
What to do next
Both data sources are live in IgniteAI Ask Your Data now. Try a question like "which LTI tools have the lowest number of launches this term" or "how many students used the mobile app last week" to see what's possible. If a question doesn't return what you expect, leave feedback in the response so we can keep tuning the answers.
