Tired of just hearing from instructure about New Quizzes? Join me at this session to hear from a Canvas admin who lead our campus' transition to New Quizzes.
Presented by: Christopher Casey, Director of Digital Education, University of Michigan-Dearborn
Date @ Time: Wednesday, July 22 @ 3 :25pm ET
Room: M108
Session Description
UM-Dearborn completed 2 year plan to fully adopt New Quizzes in May 2025, disabling creation of any new classic quizzes after that point. This session will cover the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned from this transition a year later.
What this session is really about
A lot of thought and planning went into this transition for UM-Dearborn. I'm excited to share what worked well for us with others who haven't developed a transition plan yet. More and more features are being added to New Quizzes, and even though the product has had a rocky history, it's pretty clearly the path forward at this point, so everyone should be giving it a second (or third or fourth) look at this point.
This one's for you if…
- You're an Canvas Administrator and haven't looked at new Quizzes in a while
- You're an Instructional Designer who may want to encourage faculty to start experimenting with New Quizzes
- You're a decision maker or influential Canvas user at your school/institution

See you in Louisville!
This will be my 10th in-person InstructureCon! I really enjoy meeting fellow Canvas users in-person, sometimes connecting virtual names from the community here to actual faces. I'm always happy to share my experiences and knowledge with others, but also learning new things from everyone else too. Feel free to ask about our transition to New Quizzes here, even if you're not able to attend the in-person session. I look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces in Louisville in a few weeks!
