We want to give you a heads-up about access to the Canvas Community during the Free for Teacher open window (12 am ET on May 28 through 11:59 pm ET on May 29).
During the open window, Free for Teacher users will have read-only access to the Community. You can still browse discussions, search past threads, and read every guide and resource here. You won't be able to post, reply, or comment during this period.
Educators helping educators is one of the best parts of this Community, and limiting that exchange, even for a while, is hard. We made this call to protect your safety and security, and the safety and security of all users. It is the right call, but not an easy one.
The read-only access is tied specifically to managing the current incident. After the open window, the Free for Teacher program will be discontinued. As we've said in our other communications, we're committed to providing a free offering for individual educators. Stay tuned for updates on an enhanced Canvas product for former Free for Teacher users launching this fall. That product will have the Community access you know and appreciate, including posting and replying.
Thank you for your patience, and for everything you do for your learners. We know the Community is more useful when you're in it, not just reading it, and we look forward to having you back in here sharing your experiences and expertise.
