We are incredibly proud of how many educators, instructional designers, and lifelong learners use the Canvas Network to expand their skills. The Canvas Basics Badge course has always been a favorite for those looking to master the foundational elements of Canvas.
To ensure everyone who takes this course has a high-quality, successful experience, we have made the decision to temporarily pause new enrollments for the Canvas Basics Badge on the Canvas Network catalog.
Why is this happening?
The Canvas Basics Badge course relies heavily on hands-on practice. Historically, learners have used Free for Teacher (FFT) accounts to complete these practical assignments. Because Free for Teacher is currently unavailable, new learners are currently unable to complete the course as intended.
Rather than letting new learners sign up for a course they cannot fully finish, we are hitting pause until Free for Teacher is back up and running.
What does this mean for you?
- If you are already enrolled via Canvas Network: You can continue navigating the course and reviewing the materials. You are not being removed from the course.
- If you are an active Canvas Customer: You can still fully access and enroll in the Canvas Basics course directly through your institution’s On-Demand Training Portal in the help menu. This pause only impacts new enrollments on the Canvas Network catalog.
