Building on the recently introduced Canvas Course Accessibility Checker, we are thrilled to introduce the new Accessibility Analytics dashboard in Intelligent Insights and Canvas Plus. This powerful new tool translates granular data into clear, actionable insights, empowering administrators to proactively monitor course accessibility compliance across their institution.
From Tactical Fixes to Strategic Vision
The existing Course Accessibility Checker is excellent for providing a tactical, course-level overview and remediation tools. The new Accessibility Analytics dashboard complements this through high-level strategic insights tailored specifically for administrators.

This new dashboard enables Intelligent Insights users to take control of their accessibility goals by offering several powerful capabilities:
- Monitor Compliance at Scale: Easily track accessibility compliance across your entire institution at either the account or sub-account level.
- Identify and Prioritize: Visualize your institution's overall accessibility health through clear metrics. The dashboard flags high-risk courses and pinpoints critical problem areas to effectively allocate support resources where they are needed most.
- Filter Comprehensively: Tailor your dashboard view to focus strictly on relevant course scopes and specific types of accessibility issues.
- Drive Actionable Remediation: Move from insight to action by leveraging the integrated communication tool. This allows you to send customizable, contextual Canvas messages directly to instructors, guiding their remediation efforts.
Scan Courses Regularly for Best Results
Please keep in mind that this dashboard leverages the results of the Canvas Course Accessibility Checker; therefore, only scanned courses are reflected in the data. To maintain an up-to-date overview of your institution's accessibility health, regular course scans are strongly advised. Additionally, please note that new scan results may take up to 4 hours to appear on the dashboard.
How to Access the Dashboard
The feature is enabled for root account admins by default in Intelligent Insights and Canvas Plus. Root account admins can grant access to sub-account admins through a new permission under Account Roles > Intelligent Insights > Accessibility Insights*, who will see data scoped specifically to their accounts.
*The name of this permission will be updated to Accessibility Analytics soon to align with the dashboard name.
To access the new dashboard, you have two convenient options:
- You can access the dashboard directly from the Analytics Hub.
- Alternatively, you can open the Admin menu, navigate to Admin Analytics, and then select Accessibility Analytics from the Intelligent Insights menu at the top.
Both approaches will seamlessly open the new Accessibility Analytics dashboard, giving you the tools you need to monitor and manage accessibility compliance across all courses.
