Greetings @JACOBSEN_C I know your asking a question that is probably on many minds. I am going to direct you to the Security Incident Update & FAQs. That page is the single source of truth we're keeping current, and it'll serve you better than anything speculative we could offer here.
Does anyone know of a method to export out the current term gradebook through a delivered report or api provided by instructure?
@BernieMaestasNMSU Take a look at https://community.instructure.com/en/kb/articles/660866-how-do-i-export-grades-in-the-gradebook and let me know if that helps with what you're seeking to do.
Thank you Renee. This helps however, I'm part of central IT and have been asked to export the gradebooks for all courses this term. Trying to be prepared should canvas go down again at the end of a semester. We've instructed instructors to download however in the event someone doesn't we are looking for a way to have a backup of all gradebooks. It seems that there should be a way to do a bulk export for admins through the UI or API but I haven't found it.
There's a "grade export" report in the admin settings. It's a snapshot in time of overall grades only for all classes, but better than nothing :). I'm wanting to do the same thing as you, but I'm still a bit api-illiterate!
Here's the info I received from our CSM:
"you can achieve a complete backup by combining a few different workflows:
To capture everything you mentioned, you can use these three distinct export paths:
For a truly "bulk" approach that captures discussion forums and all submissions at once, we recommend an API-based approach. While there isn't a single endpoint for this, a script can be written to:

@corksea gave you some great advice here. Now, better understanding what you're seeking to support, I also wanted to call your attention to a great resource a long time Community member just created.
I may be the only person looking for this, but looking for a single button to export all grades for all courses for a superadmin seems to make sense to me from a system design standpoint. Relying on the instructors to do this and system to remain online has several failure points.
Yesterday, after much trial and error…I concluded the new quizzes matching choice options do not work as I expected, and have used with other LMS. I thought that I could provide students a matching choice quiz with multiple attempts that would report incorrectly answered matches on the first attempt, and display the…
I have seen documentation that says you must recopy your iCal link and resubscribe when you are enrolled in new classes, does this mean my iCal feed link changes each time, or do i just need to re-fetch the .ics file?
We use course pacing to manage due dates, because we run ~20 something courses each quarter and manually setting due dates would be a nightmare. Several courses have two core topics. We want to allow students to choose which of these they will pursue first. Is there any way to configure multiple course paces with different…
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
