We recently had a student who used the DocViewer annotation toolbar (which remains accessible in student submissions even after and assignment's due and available until dates) to overwrite text in their final submission AFTER the due date! They do not need to resubmit. They simply typed over the original text and Docviewer autosaved it. The 'updated' version then showed up on the teacher side in Speedgrader. In the context of high stakes assessment, where maintaining the integrity of the process is crucial, this feature is HIGHLY problematic.
How can we prevent students from having access to the DocViewer annotation toolbar in their submission, after an assignment's due and available until dates?
