1. The New UI: More Than Just a New Coat of Paint
We are incredibly excited to preview a redesigned User Interface (UI) that is built with accessibility and efficiency at its core.
Why the Change?
Our goal is to ensure LearnPlatform is inclusive for all users. The new UI is fully validated to be WCAG 2.1 AA compliant. Beyond meeting legal standards, we’ve streamlined the experience to help you work faster.
Key Highlights:
- Accessibility Checker: The platform now includes an automatic contrast checker. If your custom district header or status colors don't meet accessibility guidelines, you’ll receive a helpful notification to adjust them.
- Consolidated Filters: We’ve moved product filters into a neat, collapsible sidebar on the right to give you more screen space to view your products.
- Audit History Tab: This is a game-changer for admins! You can now see a dedicated history for every product, showing exactly who changed a status and when it happened. This provides the historical data needed for compliance and internal auditing.
- Streamlined Form Builder: Creating request forms is now more intuitive. We’ve moved away from the split-pane view to a centralized pop-up design, giving you more landscape to draft your questions.
Mark Your Calendars :
- Coming Soon: Blog with additional details!
- April 23rd: Org Admins can toggle on the new UI preview for themselves or their entire organization to start updating internal documentation and screenshots.
- July: All customers will officially transition to the new UI.
2. Custom Created Products: Cataloging Your Way
Did you know you can use LearnPlatform to manage products that aren’t even in our community library? Custom Created Products allow you to catalog almost anything your district uses.
Popular Use Cases:
- Homegrown Tools: Sites or apps built specifically by your district.
- Non-EdTech Assets: Some districts are now using the platform to track curriculum resources or even hardware.
- Vetting Requests: When a teacher requests a site that is not already in our LearnCommunity Library, it enters your queue as a custom product for your review.
To Vet or Not to Vet?
When you create a custom product, you have a choice: keep it private to your district or ask the LearnPlatform team to vet it for the Community Library.
Benefits of community vetting include:
- URL Tracking: We can match tracking URLs so the product appears in your inventory dashboards.
- Vendor Engagement: Vetting allows us to invite the vendor to our partner portal so they can respond directly to your privacy and data applications.
- Privacy Information: You’ll have access to comprehensive data privacy information from third-party sources, including data privacy consortiums and the vendor itself, designed to help you make decisions about edtech easier.
What’s Next?
