While Studio improvements are enabled, buttons are unresponsive if Studio quiz is launched in a new tab

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 4/29/26.

Summary:

If Studio improvements are enabled and a teacher has set a Studio Quiz to launch in a new tab, the buttons in the quiz will be unresponsive. Causing students to be unable to take their quiz.

Expected Behavior:

Students should be able to take Studio quizzes in new tabs.

Steps to Reproduce:

Prerequisite: Have a course with the {{RCE Studio Embed Improvements}} feature flag enabled

In Studio, create a Studio quiz attached to one of your videos
In a course, create an assignment with an external tool submission using your Studio Quiz embed and set it to open in a new tab.
As a student, navigate to the assignment and attempt to take the quiz in the new tab, notice that once the tab is launched none of the buttons are responsive
