Hi everyone,
If you write integrations against Canvas by Instructure at an institution — K-12, higher ed, corporate training, government, or anywhere in between — we'd love your feedback.
We're running a short survey on the Canvas developer experience: APIs, data access, tooling, and documentation. Results will feed into roadmap prioritization, so this is a real chance to flag what's painful, what's missing, and what's working.
Who this is for
Institutional developers — folks employed by a school, university, district, company, or agency that uses Canvas. If you work for a vendor or partner that builds products on top of Canvas, please sit this one out. There's a separate partner edition of the same survey going out through partner channels, and keeping the two audiences separated keeps the data clean for both.
What it covers
- Overall developer experience
- API quality and documentation
- Data and analytics (DAP, exports, Live Events)
- Tooling and onboarding
- One open-ended "if you had a magic wand" question
Time: 7 to 10 minutes.

A few notes:
- Responses may inform what we prioritize on the roadmap.
- Responses are anonymous unless you provide your email address
- There's an optional question at the end if you'd be open to a 1:1 follow-up. Leaving your email is the only way we can reach you for that.
- Sections 2 through 6 mirror the partner edition word for word, so we can compare answers across both audiences honestly.
Thanks in advance — every response makes the picture clearer.
