Creating an external tool assignment set to "Assign To" for one user/section freeze and do not save

Description

• External tool assignments set to "Assign To" for one user/section do not save when creating them. Instead, they are blocked by the class="ui-widget-overlay".

  • Occasionally, the external tool modal freezes before getting to save as well.

Expected Behavior

• External Tool Assignments should save if only assigned to one student/section.

Workaround

• Include an "Everyone Else" date, and go back into the assignment and remove it after successful creation

Steps to Reproduce

• Prerequisite: Have an external tool installed with the Assignment selection placement

1. Create a new assignment and set the submission type to external tool

2. Select the external tool and content

3. Remove the "Everyone" date and instead select one student/section

4. See how the page freezes or turns grey
