is there a way for a marker to automatically insert 0 in all unanswered questions of a quiz?
Hi there! For Quizzes, any unanswered question gets zero points automatically, even if it is an essay response. So there isn't a need to do anything extra on the instructor side of things. However, maybe I'm not understanding your question; if so, please provide some additional information so folks can help answer!
The essay type questions, these don't have an auto zero in the mark box, the other automark questions have a zero but not the essay questions as you can see in the picture below.
Thank you for clarifying @Ms_Lawless! On the student side, it will show that they have received zero points for the question, but in Speedgrader it does show the dashes since it is something that is manually graded by the instructor. Unfortunately I am not aware of a way for Speedgrader to change those to zeros for unanswered questions, but I think that would be a great recommendation to Canvas for something they could improve. Consider recommending the idea to Instructure!
Has anyone experienced a Latex rendering issue since the outage? For example, \(\times10^{12}\) should display scientific notation, and \(\mu C\) should display uC, where "u" is the Greek letter mu. In my assignments, the code is not rendering. Did Canvas do something to MathJax during the outage? Is this a known issue?…
Is the Submitted date and time the moment when the button was pressed, or the moment when the quiz uploaded into the system?
Is there a way for the grading rubric to have a default selection set? I have a rubric that checks if a student has mastered a learning objective at the end of the semester (yes or no) and most students are 'yes'. It is tedious to click yes 10 times per student in each class. Can the rubric auto generate a 'yes' and I can…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
