Whole course content, student data, quizzes has disappeared

Hello,

 

I had a course in Dec 2021 but now when I see the details it is missing all the data like students, quizzes, enrolment dates are changes, files everything has disappeared. I can just se the course title on the dashboard but inside there is nothing. How can I retrieve the data or see how possibly something could have happened.

Hi @AmitBarikeri,

Can you provide some more info on this?  Are you the teacher of the course or a student?  When you click into the course from your dashboard, do you see anything at all or just the main course menu on the left?  If you could provide a screenshot, it may be very useful.

I can think of a couple possibilities offhand to begin with...

One is that you may just need to update your web browser and/or operating system.  If every course on Canvas acts like this, I'd be pretty confident this is the solution.  If you have other courses that work fine though, this is unlikely to be it.

Another possibility is that your school/institution has some kind of access/retention rules in place for older courses and they may not be available anymore.  This is something you'd need to reach out to a Canvas administrator a your school (usually in the eLearning / IT / Digital Education areas) to find out, as we in the global Canvas community do not have access to your specific school's Canvas environment.
